The first out of 2 Wacken Apps for the festival 2011 is released

W:O:A is proud to present you another world’s first.
In company with the partner junaio and PETER PAUL AND MARY, W:O:A will offer
you as the first metal festival worldwide its own Virtual Guide App free of
charge. The App is based on the new Augmented Reality technique. It is a
channel on its own of the junaio Augmented Reality Browser.

What is it?
Well, your Smartphone acts as some kind of glasses. For that purpose it
makes use of the camera and the GPS system. So, if you are on the festival
site you can hold your camera in every direction and then the App shows you
in a picture all points of interest (POI) including the corresponding
information. Furthermore the App identifies and displays the exact distance
from your present whereabouts. The POI’s are peppered with real-time
information as e.g. seasons of the bands. So, the visitor is always on the
current status.

How does it work?
In the particular App Store the Augmented Reality App of „junaio“ can be
downloaded for free. If the App is installed you can choose the Wacken
Virtual Guide Channel and go off. Furthermore the Virtual Guide can be
directly found as Featured Pick from the welcome page of Junaio App during
the whole festival.
Explore the W:O:A without long searching. With Augmented Reality App there
is no problem anymore!
